It has been a hot minute since I have done a travel guide. My last travel guide was for Charleston, SC that can be found here. I was able to visit Houston, TX this past May. I was there for about 3 days with my husband. We were able to go and see a lot in those 3 days, but I will admit it is a huge city. Therefore we weren't able to see everything. I will also be sharing the places we didn't get to go to but if we had more time we would of from restaurants to things to do.

One thing I highly recommend is going to Galveston Island. It was only an hour or so away. It was a such a pretty beach and cute beach town. You could plan a day trip there. We ended up eating lunch as soon as we got there. We tried Shrimp N Stuff and man did it not disappoint. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were delish. It is also named Winner 2017 Best Seafood Galveston County wide.
However, if you are wanting to do a beach day and grab a quick bite to eat they have a Chick-Fil-A right across from the beach. They also had a cute little shop, Murdochs where you could sit in white rocking chairs over looking the beach. The shop also had cute little souvenirs.
*Another thing to note is the traffic is pretty bad. So you want to make sure you plan extra time for traffic.
Houston, TX
We had breakfast at the hotel and then went to Peli Peli. It was such a cool restaurant. It was South African cuisine. I actually have never had South African cuisine, it was delicious. It also was in The Galleria mall. Which if you go to Houston you have to go to the mall. It is huge. It even has its own skating rink. They also had Gucci, Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Chanel to even Christian Louboutin. This mall had the best window shopping that is for sure. After we left the mall we saw the coolest attraction by it. It is the Gerald H. Hines Waterwall. I highly recommend just going to see it. It is such a cool waterfall. Also if it is hot day it is nice place to cool off.

On our last day we hit up the pool, went to IKEA, and had lunch at a cute little Mexican restaurant. Which Ikea if you don't have one in your home town is an experience. We wanted to kill some time after we checked out of our hotel and before we headed to the airport so we went to IKEA. The little Mexican restaurant was called Tacos A Go Go. They have 4 locations in Houston. It was super tasty and such a cute little place.
